2. Christian Harris, Linebacker, Alabama

Alabama has been a breeding ground for NFL talent and that is no different this year. Linebacker Christian Harris looks to be the next great Alabama defensive player, and his combine performance only improved his draft stock.

Harris ran a 4.44-second 40-yard dash and that time makes plenty of sense with how quickly he moves sideline to sideline. His speed also helps him in coverage where he can match up with both running backs and tight ends.

The Cowboys clearly need linebacker help with Leighton Vander Esch and others likely exiting. Taking Harris in the second round would be a slam dunk. Pairing him with Micah Parsons would give Dallas an athletic duo that can make plays all over the field.

The Alabama product does not have great instincts, which means he should be in a role where he can just “see ball, hit ball”. If the Cowboys choose Harris and put him in positions to succeed, he could end up being a steal on day two. Dan Quinn would certainly be able to help him develop into a high-caliber pro LB.
