3 players who impressed the Cowboys at the NFL Combine
The NFL Combine has come to a close and the Dallas Cowboys saw many great performances from some of the drafts’ top prospects. With the 24th overall pick in the first round and free agency questions still up in the air, it’s hard to know who exactly will land with Dallas. The Cowboys may not know it now, but their first-round selection was somewhere on that field in Indianapolis.
Amongst the Cowboys’ top draft needs, you will find the offensive line, defensive line, linebacker, and wide receiver. Players from each of those positions showed they are deserving of the 24th overall pick.
But, for this article, I only chose three players that impressed Dallas the most. So let’s dive in and see who has a chance to be the newest Cowboy.
3 collegiate prospects who impressed the Cowboys at the NFL Combine
3. Bernhard Raimann, Offensive Tackle, Central Michigan
The Cowboys need to start thinking about the future of their offensive line. Selecting Raimann would be a great place to begin. The Central Michigan product dominated the NFL Combine showcasing his elite athleticism.
Raimann is an intriguing prospect as he was a tight end at Central Michigan as recently as 2020. He transformed his 6-6 frame into a 303-pound offensive tackle. His quick feet from his former position make him stand out amongst other linemen heading into the draft.
If the Cowboys decide to select Raimann it will be because of his immense upside. After only 18 career starts at left tackle, he is already considered a first-round caliber player. Just think about how good he could be after a few years of NFL coaching.
The most impressive parts of Raimann’s combine showing were his 5.05-second 40-yard dash, 30 bench-press reps, and a 30.5″ vertical jump. He showed explosiveness and strength, which are rare traits for a left tackle. Raimann set himself apart from the crowd, which will surely have several teams looking at his talent.
In the final six games of his college career, Raimann did not allow a single pressure and he only allowed 10 during the whole season. For a team like the Cowboys who need a future stud left tackle, Raimann certainly impressed at the combine.`
