Round 2, Pick 12: Hamsah Nasirildeen

• Safety, Florida
• Height/Weight: 6-4, 220 lbs.

First impressions?

Safety Trevon Moehrig went one spot before I select Hamsah Nasirildeen. I wasn’t upset. I did take Moehrig last week, and you can find that read here.

This safety has a great build and size. Nasirildeen played four seasons with Florida State. He turned 22 last January. Over his college career, he gathered 234 total tackles, nine pass deflections, a sack, three forced fumbles, and four interceptions.

He suffered an ACL injury back in November of 2019. He booted the 2020 campaign with the same injury, which limited his time to only two games.

A Cowboy in the making?

For his size and height, I love the way he glides on the field and plays. The Dallas Cowboys need athletic talent in the defensive backfield. Adding Nasirildeen is an intriguing piece to boost the ailing defense.

Again, is safety a priority for the Dallas Cowboys? The Cowboys might be encouraged to add depth offensively in the second round, especially if they add Surtain to the defensive services. As well all know, the safety position is in the back seat with this organization.
