Tyrone Crawford, DL

Defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford was a guy I thought the front office kept as an insurance policy and I have to say that the cap savings would have been a better option for this club.

The Cowboys could still release Crawford and would receive $8 million dollars of cap space minus the prorated portion of the games already played.

If the front office is worried about cap space next season, this move could provide the immediate funds that wouldn’t affect the team moving forward as Crawford is in the last year of his mammoth but disappointing deal.

Moving on from Crawford would also create a space for rookie defensive tackle Neville Gallimore.

I would think that releasing Crawford has to be on the list of possibilities as his release would only leave around one million dollars of dead money.

This has been and remains the Cowboys best option moving forward.
