Cowboys at Seahawks: Defensive backfield gives me hope
The Dallas Cowboys have a tough test before them in Week 3. How will they do on the exam?
When thinking about how Seattle has gotten it done over the last two weeks, the first two weeks of the season, they put up points. They make the scoreboard ding until the lights bulbs on the video board burn out.
That’s how they win. The Dallas Cowboys can put up points, but that only accounts for being able to keep up with them.
In order to win, Dallas will have to come up with at least one big stop when they need it. When thinking about Seattle, what they have, and what they do, you have to imagine that as they have been over the first two weeks, the pass catchers will be a huge part of what they are trying to do this Sunday.
Here’s the next thing though, their pass catchers and every single one of them, relies on out-physicalling you in one way or another. Tyler Lockett wants to run pass you, around you, or so fast that you never notice he was there.
Greg Olsen wants to keep you on his hip, post you up, and give Russell Wilson a lane to simply give him a chance to make a play. David Moore, in the slot, wants to see how fast you flip your hips and move your feet. He wants to try to out-quick you in those short area spaces.
Of course, we all know what DeKaylin Zecharius or D.K. Metcalf as you might know him, wants to do. He wants to impose his physical will on you, one way or another.
That could mean running right pass you with his speed or going over the top with his size and leaping ability. It could also mean going right through you or not caring about the defender at all, as the man is a physical freak and a one giant muscle waiting to flex.
