Trade scenario #1

• Dallas Cowboys 2021 first-round pick
• Dallas Cowboys 2021 fourth-round pick
• Wide Receiver Michael Gallup

Quick Analysis

I know, I know. How dare I write Michael Gallup’s name here! And, of course, the Dallas Cowboys have denied Gallup as a trade option.

Gallup, who caught 66 balls for 1,107 yards in 2019, is trajecting north in his career. Dallas has a trio in receivers who will threaten opposing defensive schemes. So, to lose Gallup so early in his career would be a true loss.

Gallup turned 24 last March and is entering his third season as a pro. The Dallas Cowboys do have true depth at the receiver position, so they could entertain thoughts on losing the rising receiver. But the Colorado State University product has turned into a fan favorite in Dallas.

America’s Team has loaded up on wide receiver talent, a wealthy stance that is sure to make other NFL teams jealous. The Cowboys quenched their thirst by being greedy at this position. Why back away from this blueprint before actually deploying it?
