What position is the greatest in the Dallas Cowboys’ history? We’ll attempt to determine just that.

Dallas Cowboys fans have all undoubtedly heard universities claim that they are the university of a certain position. LSU and the University of Texas were recently in a battle of who was DBU … or for those who haven’t been following, Defensive Back University.

Penn State and Ohio State fans often battle on social media and network television for the linebacker U title. This back and forth debate can be easily proven with stats and draft selections but sometimes those statistics aren’t enough to prove the worth a certain player to their team.

I am going to anoint the Dallas Cowboys as “position university” at the end of this slideshow based on what position has been the greatest in the team’s history as well as compared to other teams.

I will admit that I had a great degree of difficulty with this rankings as I found it incredibly difficult to keep the Dallas Cowboys bias out of the team comparison portion but I believe that I accomplished what I set out to do.

I also had difficulty determining which positions to leave out as this team has a rich history with a number of positions deserving to be on this list but as Tex Schramm once said, keep the Ring of Honor exclusive.
