Choosing one star over another

Another option would be to let wide receiver Amari Cooper go and put that money towards Chris Jones, who would probably cost just about the same per year.

That’s another debate I will let Cowboys fans hash out, but as for me, I would be going with Cooper over Jones any day of the week.

Simply because we have seen the Dallas offense without Cooper, and I don’t think the Cowboys wide receivers are ready to take on larger roles without him.

With a very deep wide receiver class in this year’s NFL draft Bryan Broaddus, former NFL personnel manager, and radio show host on 105.3 The Fan seems to be intrigued about the idea of signing Jones and letting Cooper walk.

The Cowboys’ front office can debate how much to potentially pay for Jones and who Dallas would ultimately have to give up to sign a player of his caliber but in reality, is all this talk for nothing?

Who says the Chiefs aren’t going to franchise tag Jones or sign him long term? Fans can debate, analyze and wish from afar but the Chiefs have the ball in their court right now.

The only good thing for other NFL teams hoping to sign a player like Jones is the Chiefs are going to need a lot of money for their quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the future.

Cowboys Nation, let me know your thoughts on the potential signing of a star free agent like Jones. Who would you be willing to sacrifice to sign him and what would you be comfortable paying him?
