2. Jourdan Lewis, Cornerback

Jourdan Lewis started his career off rather well back in 2017. He forced seven pass breakups and reeled in one interception in his rookie campaign.

Though the addition of defensive back coach Kris Richard definitely benefited the team in total last year, Lewis actually suffered due to simply not fitting Richard’s prototype for what he wants at cornerback in his system.

Lewis is not particularly tall at 5-foot-10, so he did not see the field much in 2018. Lewis went from playing 746 snaps in his rookie year to only 187 the following year, per Pro Football Focus.

However, when he was on the field for multiple snaps Lewis played at a pretty good level. In fact, Lewis recorded an interception against the New Orleans Saints that all but sealed a victory in Week 13.

Lewis has not made any public fuss about his decrease in snaps. He has kept his head low and to control what he could control. Most people in this situation would not have the same humility.

Lewis could be starting somewhere else, or at the very least, play double the snaps he did last year. Pay attention to Lewis as he might be someone the Cowboys decide to trade down the road.
