The Dallas Cowboys have a big decision to make in the second round of the draft. Will they continue with their recent run of good luck with the 59th pick?

The Dallas Cowboys recent history in the second round of the draft has been lights out with them taking players like DeMarcus Lawrence, Jaylon Smith, and Randy Gregory.

With the Cowboys, the first-round pick invested in wide receiver Amari Cooper they now must see if they can get their man with the 59th pick in the draft. They have a lot of directions they can go but which is the best?

Should the Cowboys invest in another offensive weapon for quarterback Dak Prescott? If they would there are a few tight ends and slot receivers that would have an immediate impact. Or will they go back to work on the defensive side of the ball and take a defensive tackle or safety?

If they go into the draft with one glaring need then they are going to look at the safety position. The play of Jeff Heath this past season should be enough to force them to make this pick.

The Cowboys luck with defensive players in the second round is well documented and they will have the pick of the litter if they take one in the second round.

If they are smart they take a tight end. The first that comes to mind and who should be there is Alabama stand out Irv Smith Jr. He has the ability to block in the running game and take a pass to the house.

The Cowboys are missing a player that can threaten the middle of the field and need to find one to help the rest of the offense.
