The Dallas Cowboys offense steamrolled the Jaguars this weekend. Will they be able to do it again against the Washington Redskins?

The Dallas Cowboys offense surprised everyone this week exploding for 40 points against a weakened by still very dangerous Jacksonville Jaguars. The Cowboys offense focused on getting quarterback Dak Prescott out in space using bootlegs, and the run-pass option between himself and running back Ezekiel Elliott.

It also gave the Cowboys the ability to make a few plays down the field with receivers Cole Beasley, Geoff Swaim, and Michael Gallup. This is the offense we have been waiting to see. CBS commentator and former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo said as much during the game saying Prescott needs to bootleg more like he did his rookie season.

This past game showed that a mobile Prescott opens up this offense more than a pocket passing Prescott. And the stats back it up with 378 total yards, 206 yards on the ground and 172 through the air. The biggest stat though was their ability to move the ball on third down converting 7 of 17 to keep the chains moving.

Next week though the Dallas Cowboys will face a defense that will present a different challenge. While the Jaguars sport one of the best secondaries in the league the Redskins bring an aggressive defensive line led by defensive end Ryan Kerrigan and company.

If the Cowboys are going to win this game they are going to have to be able to control defensive tackles Jonathan Allen and Da’Ron Payne who have been very good against the run.

They are a defense though that gives up a lot of yards and points in games. Teams have been able to move the ball through the air averaging 260 yards and 92 yards a game on the ground. If the Dallas Cowboys can bring the offense we saw tonight to FedEx Field on Sunday they should be able to keep the Redskins defense guessing just like they were able to with the Jaguars.

Hopefully, the Dallas Cowboys keep Dak Prescott mobile because it will be the key to this offense exploding again on Sunday.
