Dallas Cowboys finally run Dak Prescott, blowout the Jaguars

The Dallas Cowboys gave the Jacksonville Jaguars are very sour welcome to AT&T Stadium on Sunday, defeating them handily in their Week Six matchup.

Following a devastating overtime loss to the Houston Texans in Week Five, the Dallas Cowboys travel back home to face one of the league’s top defenses in the Jacksonville Jaguars. Instead of rolling over, the Cowboys posted their best outing of the season against Jacksonville.

Dallas hadn’t had more than two touchdowns in a game prior to Sunday’s matchup against the Jags. The Cowboys had three scores and a whopping 251 yards of offense in the first half alone. And against a stout Dallas defense, the Jaguars offense posted a lowly 64 yards through the first two quarters.

America’s Team had a commanding 24-0 led going into halftime. Dallas continued their dominance in the second half, allowing a single touchdown by Jacksonville. The Cowboys came away with an easy 40-7 blowout victory.

Quarterback Dak Prescott was impressive both through the air and on the ground. The third-year passer ended the day completed 17 of his 27 passes for 183 yards and two touchdowns. Prescott also had a career-high 82 rushing yards and another score in this contest.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott had his typically day on the ground, racking up 106 rushing yards on 24 carries and a touchdown. Wideout Cole Beasley led the Cowboys in receiving with nine catches for 101 yards and two scores.

Defensively, defensive end Randy Gregory and defensive tackle Maliek Collins racked up a sack each against a porous Jaguars’ offensive line. Both defensive tackles Tyrone Crawford and Antwaun Woods both posted half a sack. Finally, strong safety Jeff Heath recorded only the second interception for the Cowboys defense this season.

Up next for the 3-3 Dallas Cowboys, they travel to D.C. to take on their divisional rivals, the 3-2 Washington Redskins, who currently sit atop the NFC East. That matchup will take place next Sunday, October 21st, at 3:25 p.m. CDT on CBS.
