Dallas Cowboys: Getting insider information on the Jaguars
2. What would you consider to be the Jaguars’ biggest strength? Biggest weakness?
DL: DEFENSE. The Jaguars defense is still the strength of this team. This unit is tied for third in the NFL in points per game with 17.2. The sack totals are down as are the interceptions. But it is a feared unit, nonetheless. Malik Jackson is having his best season and Marcell Dareus helps improve the run defense. If the offense can give this team just a little bit of production, there is a reason to believe they can win every game.
But on the other side of the ball, the inconsistency of the offense hurts this team. If Bortles was a consistent 280-yard passer with better command of the offense. If the running game was still the dominant presence on the field. If the team did not target one wide receiver as much and found ways to use the tight end. The Jaguars can turn this thing around, but there must be a consistent effort each week from this unit.
3. Who is one relatively unknown player that will surprise Dallas fans on Sunday?
DL: Hmm. I have read this question over many times, trying to think of someone. Can I pick Abry Jones? The defensive tackle is part of a rotation with Jackson and Dareus. He is the unknown puzzle piece that has proven to be just as solid against the run. Jones is also an emotional leader on the field and has played well in small space on the line.
As an undrafted free agent who made this team in 2013, he has earned a second contract and makes the run game better. Zeke Elliott will have a tough time this Sunday against the Jaguars interior defensive line.
