Dallas Cowboys: 7 fringe players who need a big performance
Kadeem Edwards, G
A recent rash of injuries along the Cowboys offensive line has made depth a key issue for Dallas to address once final cuts are made. That likely means this team will be looking to the waiver wire in order to find a solution.
If that’s true, guard Kadeem Edwards will be going through an intense job interview for the next five days as he tries to prove he can provide that quality depth for this O-Line. If he can’t, look for Dallas to bring in a free agent or two who can.
Darius Jackson, RB
A hip injury suffered by rookie running back Bo Scarbrough opened the door for Darius Jackson last weekend, and the former sixth-rounder made the most of the opportunity. Racking up 42 rushing yards on six carries as well as four receptions, Jackson could very well overtake the Alabama star runner and secure the third running back spot on the depth chart with a big performance.
Tyree Robinson, S
With the hamstring injury suffered by starter Xavier Woods and no Earl Thomas trade in sight, undrafted rookie safety Tyree Robinson has a real opportunity to impress the coaching staff and make this final roster in Dallas. The Oregon star has begun to separate himself from the other safeties and if he can continue to stack solid performances, Robinson could sneak onto the final 53 on a squad desperate for quality safety play. And once the regular season starts, anything can happen.
