#3. Receiver depth

Dez Bryant might be gone, but the receivers played well. Rookie Michael Gallup caught a touchdown on the Cowboys first drive from Prescott. Nothing would be better for the boys than to hit big on this rookie.

Tavon Austin only had two catches for 25 yards, but looked quick running precise routes and like a legit playmaker. Lance Lenoir jr., who has had a great training camp, made a toe-tapping touchdown snag in the end zone and looks to push for playing time.

#4. Jaylon Smith looks healthy

Linebacker Jaylon Smith looks like he’s back to the pre-injury form he showed while he was the Butkus Award winner at Notre Dame. He looks much quicker and his change of direction doesn’t look like a problem anymore. The Cowboys also used him as a blitzer and he caused one false start and forced one errant throw.

#5. Antwaun Woods hype is real

Everybody has been talking up Antwaun woods at training camp, and he showed why against the 49ers. Wood has a non-stop motor and busy hands. David Irving and Maliek Collins both might miss time, and it looks like the interior of the line might be okay if Woods can keep up this level of play.

#6. Running backs Rod Smith and Bo Scarbrough

Rod Smith had eight carries for 32 yards, and added one reception for 6 yards against most of the starters on defense. Rookie Bo Scarbrough had nine rushes for 33 yards and a solid goaline rushing TD. Scarbrough also added two receptions for 19 yards although he wasn’t used as a receiver out of the backfield at Alabama. The offense should rely on Zeke but the two backups could produce especially behind the starting offensive line.
