The Dallas Cowboys were able to pull out a minor victory, ending their season by defeating the Philadelphia Eagles at home, 6-0.

Posting their first shutout in nine years, the Dallas Cowboys ended their season defeating the Philadelphia Eagles in the City of Brotherly Love, 6-0 on a very chilly Sunday afternoon. Although the lack of offense on the Cowboys side of the ball certainly magnifies some of the problems Dallas will be tasked with fixing this offseason.

The Cowboys will finish the 2017 NFL regular season with a record of 9-7, allowing head coach Jason Garrett to avoid posting his fourth 8-8 season in Dallas since taking the helm of America’s Team back in 2010. Although the outcome of this year may be enough to save Garrett’s job in Dallas for at least one more season, the future of his coordinators looks much more bleak.

According to sources, the Cowboys will look closely at both offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli and consider making a change or two this offseason.

As for the game itself, it was a defensive slugfest with both offenses struggling the entire contest. In fact, this matchup remained scoreless through the first three quarters. In the final frame, Dallas was able to drive 99-yards, ending in a 20-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Dak Prescott to wide receiver Brice Butler. Kicker Dan Bailey missed the extra point, the second one he’s missed this season.

Prescott finished the day completing 17 of his 30 passes for 179 yards and one score. Running back Ezekiel Elliott was just 17-yards shy of posting his second 1,000-yard rushing season. He ran for 103 yards on 27 carries against the Eagles’ number one rushing defense.

Rookie wide receiver Ryan Switzer, playing in the place of an injured Cole Beasley (illness), led the Cowboys with four catches for 32 yards. Butler had two receptions for 50 yards and the only touchdown of the game.

Defensively, linebacker Sean Lee once again led the Cowboys with eight total tackles. Cornerback Anthony Brown posted six tackles and a sack. Also recording sacks were defensive lineman Daniel Ross and Datone Jones. And rookie cornerback Chidobe Awuzie posted the first interception of his career.
