TWO YEARS DRAFTING IN THE ZONE

Barring injury, the Dallas Cowboys will have at least ten players selected in the last two drafts who record a start next season.

Ezekiel Elliott, Jaylon Smith, Maliek Collins, Dak Prescott, and Anthony Brown are surefire starters from the 2016 draft. Plus Tapper will add snaps in the DE rotation.

This group already has two Pro Bowlers, two other returning starters, and the most talented defender in the draft class eager to make his debut.

From the 2017 class, Charlton, Awuzie, Lewis, Woods, and Switzer (kick returner) will all get starting snaps at some point next season.

Cowboys scouts rated four of the rookies among the top 65 players in the class. While Switzer was arguably the most dangerous kick returner in the draft.

None of these additions the last two drafts are mediocre talents who’ll start by default. Which was the case with Heath starting as a rookie in 2013.

The draft just ended and I’m already chomping at the bit for training camp. It should be one of the most intense, competitive August displays in recent memory.
