Best Pick of the Draft

CB Chide Awuzie – Colorado

After passing on a cornerback in round one, the Dallas Cowboys absolutely had to pick one in round two.  With other options on the board, the went with Awuzie because he’s a great disrupter.

Awuzie may have only had three interceptions at Colorado but also produced 26 tackles for loss, 13 pass deflections and nine sacks.  He has the versatility to play outside, in the slot and even safety.

Regardless of where he’s at on the field, he’ll be on the field often.

Steal of the Draft

S Xavier Woods – Louisiana Tech

A three time first-team All-Conference USA selection, Woods fills the last need in this draft with the 191st overall selection.

Woods provides this defense with a much needed playmaker in the defensive backfield.  With six forced fumbles and 14 career interceptions, he has a nose for the ball.  Obviously for a talent like this to be available so late, there are aspects of his game that will need to improve.

Still, as playmakers go, he instantly comes in as the best of the bunch at the safety position for these Dallas Cowboys.
