Pass Rushers Continued…

Round 2-3

Tarell Basham (Ohio/Round 2)/Tyus Bowser (Houston/Round 2)/Derek Rivers (Youngstown State)/Demarcus Walker (Florida State)

The Cowboys could take a cornerback in the first round if the right one falls to them as it fills another pressing need. The only player I see this occurring with is Marlon Humphrey as he is projected to be the second best corner in this draft. If that happens one of these players could be a solid option as a pass rusher.

Basham and Bowser would be the favorites as they are the best players available. They could be taken earlier than the Cowboys second round pick so Rivers would be the automatic option followed by what could be somewhat of a reach for Walker. After compiling all of the Cowboys pre-draft visits it is safe to say that the draft would have to go in a dramatically different direction if the team were to not take a pass rusher in the first round.

Late round selections

Tanoh Kpassagnon (Villanova)/Dawuane Smoot (Illinois)/Deatrich Wise Jr (Arkansas)/Jeremiah Ledbetter (Arkansas)

These guys are all interesting because of their value and upside. Kpassagnon is a project player who has elite size and length. He is similar to David Irving and could be worth a flier in the later rounds.

The two Arkansas players can also have the ability to be incredibly productive on the field and should be available late into the draft. If the Cowboys are going to load up at defensive end they could do it in the fifth and/or sixth round in addition to an early selection.
