Philadelphia Eagles

1-2 Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
3-79 Isaac Seumalo, C, Oregon State
5-153 Wendell Smallwood, RB, West Virginia
5-164 Halapoulivaati Vaitai, OT, TCU
6-196 Blake Countess, CB, Auburn
7-233 Jalen Mills, S, LSU
7-240 Alex McCalister, DE, Florida
7-251 Joe Walker, ILB, Oregon

Analysis: The entire Philadelphia Eagles draft centers around the trade up to select quarterback Carson Wentz. If the prospect out of North Dakota State lives up to his potential, than the Eagles made the right move trading their future for him. If not, it’s a flat out disaster and will set the franchise back for the foreseeable future.

Center/Guard Isaac Seaumalo could be a real good player if he can remain healthy. And LSU defensive back Jalen Mill was a terrific value in the seventh and could be a steal for them.

Unfortunately, I believe the Eagles gambled far too much to obtain Wentz. Especially considering what they’ve done at the quarterback position this offseason by re-signing veteran Sam Bradford to a two-year, $36 million deal and adding veteran back-up quarterback Chase Daniel to a lucrative three-year, $21 million contract in free agency.
