1.4: Jalen Ramsey, DB, Florida State

Right now it sounds like the Cowboys decision is simple. Jalen Ramsey or Ezekiel Elliott. With the Rams and Eagles expected to take quarterbacks at 1 and 2 then attention turns to the Chargers. Unless the Chargers pick Ramsey, he’ll be on his way to Dallas. That’s two young athletic specimens the Cowboys will have in the backfield for the foreseeable future in Ramsey and last year’s first round pick Byron Jones.

2.34: Kevin Dodd, DE

With suspensions looming for the Cowboys last two second round picks and current first choice defensive ends there’s a want/need/desire to add to the current defensive line pool.

Prior to 2015 Kevin Dodd had 0 sacks for the Clemson Tigers. But alongside fellow draftee Shaq Lawson they amassed 25 sacks for the Tigers- 12.5 apiece. Dodd won’t be drafted as high as Shaq, but listed as a 1st-2nd round pick by CBS Sports the he’s a player who could be available to the Cowboys at the top of the 2nd round.

3.67: Connor McGovern, OG

Adding to the offensive line isn’t exactly a priority for the Cowboys. Multiple Pro-Bowlers most of whom have their best years ahead of them. There was a need for some cover with the release of Mackenzy Bernadeu earlier this year. Joe Looney was recruited and is a nice veteran option to have, but Connor McGovern could be too good to pass on.

A three year starter out of Missouri he played at tackle and guard. The casual fan will know him for his strength and 40 game starting streak at college. His pass protection needs work and because of his size he’s not got the bend that some would like, but get him in the mix working alongside the starting OL he’d be fun to watch develop.
