The December Dallas Cowboys Need To Surprise Critics

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 20 Comments

Uh oh. December is right around the corner and you know what that means for the Dallas Cowboys, right? You’re expecting the typical December slump for the 8-3 Cowboys? As Tony Romo said during the press conference after the Cowboys routed the Raiders 24-7, this team has already faced its fair share of adversity. To have most players healthy for this very key stretch of games is going to help. Winning 3 out of 5 games may not be enough. Dallas Cowboys vs Oakland Raiders Thanksgiving Preview

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 25 Comments

By all football standards, the Dallas Cowboys should win this game today against the Oakland Raiders, but this is why they play the games. After scoring just one touchdown in almost two games, the Cowboys sputtering offense and the coach behind it, offensive coordinator Jason Garrett, had just four days to prepare for this match up. Should we expect the same erratic play calling as we watch a defense that is surely becoming one of the better ones in the league? The Raiders have beaten the Cowboys the last three contests, with the last one in 2005. The Raiders with [...]

Jimmy Johnson Unlikely To Coach Dallas Cowboys Again

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

You guys are already discussing coaching changes and I see Jimmy Johnson come up a few times. Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson was on the Texas Today Show, where he was asked about returning to coach the Cowboys. Don’t get your hopes up. According to what Jimmy said, he is loving his current lifestyle, which involves him talking about football a lot on television and what I suspect is drinking plenty of alcoholic beverages. “I love doing FOX NFL Sunday, and Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, and Kurt Menefee, we all have a ball on the set [...]

Dallas Cowboys Offense Looked Lost In Win Over Redskins

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 27 Comments

The Dallas Cowboys offense looked lost today in the 7-6 victory over the Washington Redskins in Cowboys Stadium. The nail-biter of a game ended with a Anthony Spencer interception of a tipped pass. The Cowboys played a team down to their third-string running back and a slew of injuries to the offensive line. Yet, the Cowboys could only muster one touchdown to Patrick Crayton late in the game. The Cowboys offenses lacks originality. Although Tony Romo was 7-7 on that final game-winning drive, before that he had only one catch by a wide receiver. One catch. His passes were off. [...]

Terence Newman and Coach Dave Campo Get Into Fight On Sidelines

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 13 Comments

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Terence Newman and secondary coach Dave Campo got into a fight on the sidelines today in the game against the Washington Redskins. The play that likely caused the fight was one in which Redskins QB Jason Campbell avoided a DeMarcus Ware sack to throw a 23-yard pass for a first down. The receiver was wide open. When Newman came off the field, Campo immediately got in his face. At first glance it looked as if Campo was trying to fire up Newman. But it became apparent within a few seconds that this was no joke. Still in [...]

Injuries Plague Dallas Cowboys

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 37 Comments

The Dallas Cowboys have officially been struck by the injury bug. Ken Hamlin is out 2 to 4 weeks. Marc Colombo could miss the season with a broken foot. Left corner Mike Jenkins has a bicep injury. Flozell Adams and Kyle Kosier have ankle injuries. The offensive line is in bad shape and the Cowboys don’t have kids at back up. Doug Free has is practically a bench veteran. Free may not start against the Washington Redskins, though. Pat McQuistan or Montrae Holland could get in the game. Marion Barber has an injured thumb that greatly limited his carries Sunday [...]

Dallas Cowboys Lose To Hopeful Green Bay Packers 17-7

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 18 Comments

The Dallas Cowboys 17-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Green Bay last night is not that big of a deal, folks. The Packers played their best game of the season, running a defense that swarmed toward the ball. Cornerback Charles Woodson was amazing and some of the Cowboys were a little off. At 4-4, the Packers were playing for hope. At 6-2, the Cowboys were looking to add to their NFC East lead, as Philadelphia lost, too. The Packers just wanted the win more. There was more on the line for the Cheese Heads. What hurt the Cowboys? [...]

Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers Preview

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 36 Comments

The Dallas Cowboys face the Green Bay Packers this afternoon. I have a hard time measuring these Green Bay Packers. They have solid receivers and a solid quarterback, but for some reason they come up short in big games. Dallas has had its way with the Packers the last four games, winning the last three  match ups. It was Miles Austin, too, who helped the Cowboys pull away in a prime-time game last season, when he caught a 52 yard touchdown pass. Part of the problem for the Packers is Dom Capers’ change to a 3-4 defense, which has been [...]

A Case For Victor Butler

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 52 Comments

If Dallas Cowboys rookie linebacker Victor Butler does not make that shoestring tackle of Donovan McNabb late in last night’s 20-16 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, Cowboys fans very well could have seen a different outcome. Butler, who was in because of an injured Anthony Spencer, may be undersized at his position. But when he has been in the game, he has made plays. He has three sacks and one forced fumble in his very limited playing time. With Spencer not 100 percent, this could be Butler’s chance to steal the starting position from Spencer. The Cowboys then have the [...]

Dallas Cowboys In First Place After Beating Philadelphia Eagles

AUTHOR: | IN: Cowboys | COMMENTS: 13 Comments

The Dallas Cowboys are in first place of the NFC East after beating the Philadelphia Eagles last night 20-16 in Philadelphia. The game breaker was a 49-yard touchdown pass to Miles Austin, his only catch of the game. Austin somehow flew past Sheldon Brown and was wide open for a lofting touchdown pass from Tony Romo, who was 21 of 34 for 307 yards, one TD and one interception. The Cowboys were 7 for 15 on third down plays and the defense held the Eagles to 4-12 on third down plays, plus a huge fourth down stop of a Donovan [...]
