1st Round |

1. Miami Dolphins -Chris Long, DE, Virginia
- They could go with QB Matt Ryan here but I think Chris Long seems to be the best choice since Jason Taylor wants out of Miami and Josh McCown was signed recently
2. St. Louis Rams -Jake Long, OT, Michigan
- They lost 3 starters due to injury so this pick makes a lot of sense
3. Atlanta Falcons* -Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU
- The Mike Smith era starts with Defense

4. Oakland Raiders* – Darren McFadden, RB, Arkansas
- Sorry guys, but Al Davis won’t pass him up nor will he trade him. Run DMC is headed to Oakland

5. Kansas City Chiefs* – Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas
- The Chiefs are desperate for help at cornerback, and Talib has the talent to make an immediate impact
6. New York Jets – Quentin Groves, OLB, Auburn
- Groves fits the JETS 3-4 scheme but they could also go with Vernon Gholston
7. New England Patriots (From 49ers) -Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida
- The Lametriots are thin in the secondary and the loss of Asante Samuel didn’t help. A Hybrid LB/DE is also an option at this spot

8. Baltimore Ravens – Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College
- The Ravens need a lot of help (not to mention youth) at QB

9. Cincinnati Bengals – Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State
- The loss of Justin Smith leaves an opening that Gholston should fill very well
10. New Orleans Saints -Keith Rivers, OLB, USC
- The D needs a lot help and he sure could help the front 7 but don’t be surprised if the saints to move up to grab Jenkins or Talib. The secondary got Toasted on a weekly basis
11. Buffalo Bills -Malcolm Kelly, WR, Oklahoma
- He would compliment Lee Evans nicely not to mention he would help with the development of Trent Edwards. A LB such as Rivers is also an option here

12. Denver Broncos -DeSean Jackson, WR, California
- The Broncos let go of Javon Walker and I can see why. Jackson should fill theirs needs nicely
13. Carolina Panthers -Brian Brohm, QB, Louisville
- While an OL or a RB is also a very likely possibility the Panthers need to start thinking about the future at QB. Jake Delhomme is getting up there and David Carr is not the answer

14. Chicago Bears -Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt
- I wanted to say QB but not anymore since they signed Grossman and Orton. Chris Williams should help their aging OL

15. Detroit Lions -Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida
- Detroit has multiple needs on defense, but that is what happens when you only use one first round pick on a defensive player in an eight-year span. I could also see them taking Sedrick Ellis here
16. Arizona Cardinals -Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois
- Edgerrin James rushed for 1,200+ yards last year, but he averaged just 3.8 yards per carry. Add that with the 3.4 yards per carry he posted in his first year in Arizona in 2006, and the fact that James will be 30 before the season begins, and it adds up to a troubling situation for a team that is otherwise good on offense

17. Minnesota Vikings -Phillip Merling, DE, Clemson
- They need him to help their anemic pass rush. Anyone who is a pass rusher would do here
18. Houston Texans -Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona
- The Texans will look to add a top cover man and will seriously consider Cason with this pick. My man DR-C as well as Reggie smith could go here
19. Philadelphia Eagles -Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
- Tra Thomas and Ron Runyan are getting up in age. Kyle Kolb’s blind side will be protected for the next 10 years with this pick
20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers -Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon
- Caddy is injury prone and needs a new running mate
21. Washington Redskins -Kenny Phillips, S, Miami
- This pick makes a lot of sense to me. Who is going to replace the late Sean Taylor???
22. Dallas Cowboys (From Browns) -Dominique Rodgers – Cromartie, CB, Tennessee State
- His Impressive Combine caught some heads and Hopefully the Cowboys. I also Wouldn’t mind seeing Limas Sweed or Mario Manningham here but If it were up to me I’d pick DR-C
23. Pittsburgh Steelers -Branden Albert – OG, Virginia
- Alan Faneca is gone and Albert could be the best option for a replacement
24. Tennessee Titans -Limas Sweed – WR, Texas
- The Titans have D-line issues but VY also needs weapons

25. Seattle Seahawks -Kentwan Balmer – DT, North Carolina
- I was going to say RB but seattle got Julius Jones so this makes more sense. Their interior line needs work
26. Jacksonville Jaguars -Lawrence Jackson, DE, USC
- Bobby McCray signed for New Orleans so his replacement comes with this pick
27. San Diego Chargers -Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College
- Shane Olivea out Gosder Cherilus in
28. Dallas Cowboys -Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas
- Think of him as D-Mac Lite, The perfect compliment to MBIII but a CB could also go here if they don’t get DR-C with the 22nd pick
29. San Francisco 49ers (From Colts) -Devin Thomas, WR, Michigan State
- Alex Smith needs a lot of help and Thomas is a playmaker new offensive coordinator Mike Martz needs in his mission to get the most out of his pass-happy scheme. A Hybrid LB/DE could also go here
30. Green Bay Packers -Fred Davis, TE, USC
- Aaron Rodgers is going to want to throw to a big-play tight end, a role Davis should fill quite nicely

31. New York Giants -Dan Connor, OLB, Penn State
- While a CB would make sense here Adding Connor also makes sense So Kiwanuka can go back to his normal position

CHEATING SCUMBAGS |
Hey yall, Deangelo Hall is gonna be traded to the Raiders……….no more talk about him.
March 15th, 2008 at 2:35 pmThis could change some things up in how Dallas will choose to select in the draft too. I think that Dallas could potentially trade up with Atlanta still, especially if Mike Smith is interested in defensive upgrades as this mock draft suggests. They also could use a tight end as well since Crumpler went to the Titans. Akin Ayodele isn’t a DT, but I believe that Atlanta would be interested in him as well.
March 15th, 2008 at 3:06 pmIf Dallas gets DRC and Felix the cat . That would be perfect.I think DRC looks alot like terrence newman and felix looks like Julius but a bit faster and bigger and I am talkin old julius.Use a second round pick on a WR maybe trade the 3 and 4 to move up in a trade with Miami and pick Devin Thomas or James Hardey because I dont think Dallas needs alot of players they need a few really good players. Then use the 5th two 6s and the seventh on cb wr rb that are good special team players…peace
March 15th, 2008 at 10:14 pmYay my mock draft got posted….wooohoooo Thanks alot Landry Hat!
March 16th, 2008 at 10:52 amCheating Scumbags? Why do the Boys get a freebee on this when Jimmy Johnson admitted doing it too? He admitted doing it for years. Who is the Scumbag labeler that wants to throw the first stone? It’s like J-Walking. The only advantage gained is a few yards down the street. How many of you Scumbag casters have ever J-Walked? You cheaters!!!!Didn’t the Broncos beat you and the Niners beat you guys when they cheated on the salary cap and had a bigger payroll to fund more players? They won the SB right? Funny about that. No 1st rounder taken. No talk about asterisks, yet that was by far a bigger in justice by monumental proportions in the history of the league. Where’s your outrage there? You got screwed out of the SB. It has already been proven to all the righteous out there that it is minimal if any advantage to tape signals.I am just going to blow this thing up for you right now to show how stupid some people are. Do you realize that by NFL rules, if that assistant taking pics was in an old cardboard appliance or refrigerator shipping box taking the same movies, it would have been completely legal? It states as long as the film was taken within a structure that had walls and a roof. Check your rulebook. The Pats were filmed by the Jets in the 2006 playoff game with evidence and they got away clean. Did you know that? The Dolphins tape recorded the Pats line calls in 2005 and beat the Pats. With all of the high tech surveillance products out there including satellite, don’t you thing that a high res camera would have done the same thing from the press box? It was overkill by Bill B. He got nailed. Don’t you Boys fans call the kettle black now.DW Toys
March 16th, 2008 at 4:52 pmNow about your draft. Your ex-coach has no choice but to pick Matt Ryan. He does not have a QB. McCown failed in Oakland. Why would going to a worse team make him better? Yes he would rather get multiple picks to trade because the top five picks in the draft who have not played one snap are a rip-off at $7-10mm guranteed. You hhave to hire a franchise player there in this day and age. C. Long is a great player but do you pass on a francise type QB? Can C. Long throw the ball? There is absolutely no reason for the Phins to not take Ryan. Remember this, B.C. was a very poor team last year with no running game or decent receivers and this kid was outstanding. He won with what he had. This is exactly what the Phins need. All this other crap about Long or Dorsey is posturing by the Tuna. Unless the Boys give him Tony Romo for that #1, he has no other choice.DW Toys
March 16th, 2008 at 5:02 pmJohn, did I hit a nerve? The Patriots are the most disgusting team in the history of the NFL. Worse than the Raiders.
March 16th, 2008 at 5:37 pmNine,Not a bad draft but I bet Mckelvin from Troy is the first CB taken and he isnt even in your 1st round. Plus Cason I dont think will be a first rounder nor Davis the TE. But not bad.
March 16th, 2008 at 9:12 pmDavid, I agree. I think Nine might want to do a little more research on these guys. McKelvin will be a top 10 pick in my opinion.
March 16th, 2008 at 9:19 pmHat,I think McKelvin is also a top ten pick probably to the Pats or at the very latest the Saints.
March 17th, 2008 at 6:12 amHat,I also see no way of DRC falling to us although I hope he does.
March 17th, 2008 at 6:12 amYeah I forgot about mckelvin…I need to re do this im giving some guys too much credit
March 17th, 2008 at 6:54 amNine, I also do not think Groves will be that high either but maybe mid to late first round. But otherwise not bad.
March 17th, 2008 at 7:38 amI want to see Steamrollers version of the draft, he must have a good one. I just emailed Landry hat a revised version of my mock. I feel much better about that one. sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it right, but thanks guys.

March 17th, 2008 at 12:39 pmIf you think Carolina will draft a QB, you do not Know John Fox. Fox does not believe in a High Pick QB. He likes to get players who can play immediately and not need to sit back for a year before getting out there. If he were to take a QB, it would be 3rd or later pick. The first pick more than likely will be an OT or a DT.
March 17th, 2008 at 5:37 pm#9, I hope your right about my draft. Seriously though I think yours is really good and I am anxious to see more. It is a lot of hard work digging up all the details for comments too isn’t it. Looks like you did a lot of research too. Great Job
March 18th, 2008 at 3:25 amThanks Steam, I really appreciate it. The mocks are hard but they are alot of fun. my next mock is going to be a little different but thats only because i been playing with some "what if’’s" Cant wait to see yours man….
March 18th, 2008 at 6:33 amMickey Spagnola has convinced me, probobly not Jerry though, that the first round needs to be corners. DRC, Reggie Smith, possibly Aqib Talib if available. Take the best available at #22. DRC looks dang good. Antoine Cason, Brandon Flowers possibly if many corners are taken prior to the Dallas picks would be good choices at #28. Take a RB in the second. Still I think D MAC could slip into reach of a trade up, and it likely could happen. I am about to start my second mock draft without trades. Dallas is not the only team I have changed things up on though. Get ready LandryHat. I think this one will be more on target with what is to come in April. I can almost guarantee some trading to take place though. …….If 2 corners are taken in the first what RB would be a good, and a likely target for Dallas in the second round? I really think that this speed demon Chris Johnson is better than a late second round pick. Slaton or Rice possibly. And that’s great if Barber is the #1 which he should be. My first mock draft shows how, without trades, that Darren McFadden could slip down as far as Buffalo. (just to give some clues #9) I can’t wait to see people’s reaction to this. I know well that it won’t happen though. Someone will trade up for him well before that if not selected. Spag also has ??’s about the inside linebackers being stacked up since Zach Thomas was brought in. Can any of you think of a good post draft, or draft day trade for an experienced corner that likely could happen for say Akin Ayodole or possibly others too? Looks like the DeAngelo Hall rumors are dead. ….Lito Sheppard?
