The Dallas Cowboys have a very top-heavy roster that is filled with superstars. Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons are all household names and players like Brandon Aubrey, Tyler Smith, KaVontae Turpin, Daron Bland, Trevon Diggs, and Bryan Anger have all received All-Pro consideration.
But which player on the Cowboys is the best asset? Quarterbacks are always incredibly valuable, but Prescott is 31 and is coming off another season-ending injury. And yet, you can bet that at least a dozen teams would be interested in him if he ever became available. The same goes for Lamb, who is widely considered a top-five receiver in the NFL and has now caught at least 100 passes in three straight seasons.
As great as Prescott and Lamb have been for the Cowboys, neither of them is the most valuable asset on the roster. That honor goes to Micah Parsons, who has made the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons in the NFL. He’s been a two-time first-team All-Pro selection and nearly made it during the 2023 season.
You can make a strong case that Parsons has been the second-best pass rusher in the NFL (behind only Myles Garrett) from the moment he stepped onto the field, and the fact that he’s only 26 makes him that much more valuable. Since entering the league, he's recorded 52.5 sacks in 63 games and is always among the league leaders in pressures, QB hits, hurries, etc. He's a dominant defender who is only getting better with each passing year in the league.
In a recent No Huddle show on the Stacking The Box YouTube channel, Marcus Mosher and Tommy Jaggi discussed each team’s most valuable asset heading into the 2025 season. And to no surprise, Parsons was named the selection for the Cowboys. Here is the full video and link via Stacking The Box:
