It's another day, and another update on Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens.

Well, sort of.

We have heard countless takes, opinions and even factual reports over the last few weeks. Heck, we've even heard and seen a report that both Adam Schefter and Pat McAfee wanted to pretend never existed!

It's been a wild ride. And it isn't over -- yet. Pickens signed his franchise tag, but now, Cowboys fans are wondering if this is still only the beginning of all the drama. Is there an end in sight, or will this linger on?

Today, we received another inside scoop on the matter. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, one of the more well-respected insiders in the game, was on The Rich Eisen Show and spoke on the saga at hand. Not only that, but he offered what he believes is the most-likely ending to all of this hullabaloo.

Tom Pelissero thinks most-likely ending for George Pickens and the Dallas Cowboys comes down to not losing money

Said Pelissero:

"George Pickens' agent, David Mulugheta, his history is he doesn't have guys lose money. His players show up [to camp] ... what's more likely at this point is George Pickens playing on the tender.

"I don't anticipate George Pickens giving back money, sitting out, losing almost $2 million per game. He's going to be playing football in Week 1 and you'd have to say, under the current circumstances, the most likely place that would be is in Dallas."

With all of the constant noise, Pelissero makes some sense of everything going on. Now that Pickens has signed his tender, it actually makes things pretty easy.

Let's say, for sake of argument, that the Cowboys ended up entertaining a Pickens trade. Pelissero also pointed out a couple of facts in that potential matter. First, Pickens can somewhat control where he goes. He'd have to agree to a multi-year extension with the new team.

Second, the Cowboys would be dealing for future assets and maybe a current player. They can no longer deal for this year's draft capital, obviously, with the draft being over. That makes a trade much harder for the Cowboys to bite on.

Dallas is going to want something or someone to help them this year, and that becomes much tougher now.

So, all of that considered, Pelissero's take makes the most sense. He's absolutely right. There can be all the smoke in the world in coming days or weeks, but the most likely result to all of this is that Pickens shows up and practices when he's required to, and in Week 1, he's out there on the field for the Cowboys.
