After an emotional win in Week 2, the Dallas Cowboys collapsed in Week 3. Let's predict their next four games.
The Cowboys are not particularly close to being a special team by any means, but if nothing else, the offense appears to be slightly entertaining. Dallas dropped the ball in Week 3 and blew their shot at a solid 2-1 start.
However, the Cowboys also do have some winnable games on their schedule over the next month, and if all goes well, they should still find themselves right in the thick of things approaching the halfway point of the season. Let's predict their next four games.
Predicting the Dallas Cowboys' next four games after brutal Week 3 showing
Week 4 vs. Green Bay Packers
The Dallas Cowboys host the Green Bay Packers in Week 3, and while the Packers did drop a stinker to the Cleveland Browns, they'll have every reason to bounce back in Week 4. This is obviously the return of Micah Parsons, and it's going to turn out to be a game filled with high emotions. Unfortunately, the Packers outmatch the Cowboys in most every position, so Green Bay is going to overwhelm Dallas and run away with a victory.
Packers win 28-20 (1-3)
Week 5 @ New York Jets
The New York Jets are 0-3 and might be the worst team in the NFL. They have a first-year coaching staff and no semblance of a competent QB situation, so the Cowboys may actually be able to play the Jets tough here in Week 5. Sure, New York did give Tampa Bay a run for their money, but in today's NFL, many of the games come down to which team has the QB advantage, and in this contest, that honor goes to Dallas.
Cowboys win 23-21 (2-3)
Week 6 @ Carolina Panthers
The Cowboys have a great shot at a nice two-game win streak here in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers. Carolina did blowout the Atlanta Falcons in Week 3, but from top to bottom, the Panthers aren't very competitive. This would be the second game in a row where Dallas has a clear advantage at QB, and the poor Panthers' defense might not have a single answer for CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
Dallas is a more battle-tested team and will come away with a win here in Week 6, getting back to .500.
Cowboys win 30-20 (3-3)
Week 7 vs. Washington Commanders
Week 7 is a game against the Washington Commanders, one of the NFC contenders. Washington was able to win a physical game without Jayden Daniels, and while I do not believe the talent is all that different between the two teams, what separates Washington and Dallas is coaching. I would expect the Commanders to win this game if Daniels is back and healthy.
Dallas does have the offensive firepower to hang with Washington, and I would argue that they have a better supporting cast, but this team won 14 total games in 2024 for a reason, so I'm not going to overthink this. Commanders win.
