Who are the announcers and referees for Cowboys vs. Ravens in Week 2?
By Jerry Trotta
Week 3 is not a must-win for the Dallas Cowboys by any means. The Eagles' meltdown on Monday night hinted this could be another weird season for the NFC East. However, they need a bounce-back performance in the worst way after getting drubbed at home by the Saints.
That won't be easy with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens visiting AT&T Stadium. Baltimore is shockingly 0-2 to start the season. They nearly beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead in Week 1, then blew a 10-point fourth quarter lead at home against the Raiders of all teams last Sunday.
Improving to 2-1 with a Thursday night game against the Giants on deck would have Cowboys supporters feeling much better about their team. With a lot on the line for both teams, it's no wonder the game will have a primetime feel to it.
Announcers for Cowboys vs. Ravens
- Network: FOX
- Play-by-play: Kevin Burkhardt
- Color commentary: Tom Brady
- Sideline reporter: Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi
Burkhardt and Brady are the unofficial broadcast team of the Cowboys. This marks the third consecutive game that FOX will send its A-team to cover Dallas. They weren't even in the late afternoon slate last week and still Burkhardt and Brady were on the call
The Saints aren't a national darling by any means, but it was the Cowboys' home-opener. With Lamar Jackson coming to town, it makes sense why Dallas will once again be featured as America's Game of the Week. It will be a shock to the system when Burkhardt and Brady aren't on the call for a Cowboys game.
Referees for Cowboys vs. Ravens
The head referee for Cowboys vs. Ravens on Sunday will be Ron Torbert, who officiated Dallas' blowout home loss in the playoffs against the Packers. Over the past three seasons, no crew has called a higher percentage of its penalties on the offensive line than Torbert's. The Cowboys' OL better be buttoned up because Torbert's will be more than happy to throw laundry on the field.
Cowboys fans were not thrilled with the officiating last week. The crew missed a blatant facemask on Rico Dowdle and didn't call an unnecessary roughness on CeeDee Lamb in the end zone. They had other misses as well. The calls, or lack thereof, didn't have a say in the outcome, but fans should prepare for one or two (if not more) gaffes. It happens in every game.
Here is the rest of the crew that will be calling the game with Torbert:
- Umpire: Barry Anderson
- Down Judge: Frank LeBlanc
- Line Judge: Brian Bolinger
- Side Judge: Keith Washington
- Field Judge: Ryan Dickson
- Back Judge: Tony Josselyn
