Which jerseys are the Cowboys wearing today vs. Saints?
By Jerry Trotta
The apprehension among Dallas Cowboys fans was palpable going into the new season. Nobody knew what to expect in Week 1 given the league-wide rust factor. Well, the Cowboys quelled concerns by utterly smothering the Browns at Huntington Bank Field.
It can be argued that the Cowboys are playing a lesser opponent in Week 2. The New Orleans Saints are coming off a dominant road win themselves, but that came against the Carolina Panthers, who are unequivocally the worst team in football.
The Cowboys should take care of business so long as they play a clean brand of football. Derek Carr has a propensity to crumble when pressured and he could be without rookie left tackle tackle Taliese Fuaga, who popped up on the injury report mid-week with a back issue.
Another important factor to consider is that Dallas will be playing in the friendly confines of AT&T Stadium. For Cowboys fans who are going to the game and want to match the players it would help to know what jersey the team is wearing.
Cowboys will wear their primary white jersey in Week 2 vs. the Saints
For the second straight week, the Cowboys will rock their primary white jerseys. It's a fitting choice for the home-opener. Even though fans would prefer a different uniform, the traditional white is without question one of the cleanest looks in the NFL.
At the end of the day, Dallas can't wear a color that clashes with their opponent. The Saints are wearing their all-black jersey on Sunday. While the Cowboys could have worn their adored all-white arctic, they typically only bring those out for primetime or nationally-televised games.
Coming off a thrashing of the Browns in Week 1 while wearing their primary whites, why mess with the good juju?
Ultimately, all that matters is that Dallas wins the game and they've been virtually unbeatable at home dating back two years. Last season, they were a perfect 8-0 during the regular season at AT&T Stadium while winning those games by a combined 182 points, or an average of 23 points per contest. That included wins against the playoff-bound Eagles, Rams and Lions.
The Cowboys will be wearing white as they put their 16-game home winning streak (in the regular season) on the line Sunday afternoon.
