What channel is the Cowboys game on tonight? Start time, announcers, and more
By Jerry Trotta
The Dallas Cowboys will lock horns with the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday night in their second preseason game. This will be a strong test for Mike McCarthy's side as the Raiders are expected to play most of their starters.
Before practice on Wednesday, head coach Antonio Pierce said that if first-team players are healthy, they are going to play. While they might have a short leash, it will be fascinating to watch how Trey Lance, Tyler Guyton, Mazi Smith and Cooper Beebe fare against another team's starters.
This game could go a long way in determining Trey Lance's outlook for the 2024 season. It makes for a must-see exhibition for Cowboys fans. Here is all of the pertinent information you need to know about the game.
Raiders vs. Cowboys channel information
Fans in the Dallas and Las Vegas area can find the game on their local CBS affiliate. Out-of-market fans should defer to NFL Network, which will carry its own standalone broadcast. It is the same deal as last Sunday's game against the Rams as far as how to watch the game.
Kickoff is scheduled for 9 pm CT. The Cowboys should have a separate pregame show starting roughly an hour and a half before kickoff.
Raiders vs. Cowboys announcers
Cowboys fans watching on CBS will have a familiar announcing team: Bill Jones on play-by-play, Isaiah Stanback as the color analyst and Kyle Youmans reporting from the sideline. NFL Network's broadcast team has not yet been revealed.
Raiders vs. Cowboys recent outcomes
The Cowboys last played the Raiders in the 2021 regular season. Las Vegas emerged victorious in overtime on the back of a short field goal from Daniel Carlson. These teams have squared up 13 times in their respective histories, with the Raiders holding a slight 7-6 edge.
While it's been three full seasons since Dallas and Las Vegas have played, they actually faced off last preseason. Cowboys fans might remember it as Will Grier's heroic final salvo with Dallas. The Cowboys had just traded for Trey Lance, so Grier was a sure thing to be cut.
In an audition for the NFL's other 31 teams, Grier completed 29 of 35 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns. He added 10 carries for 53 yards and two more scores with his legs. It was a incredible sendoff.
It would make for a chaotic final week of preseason if Lance played even half as good on Saturday as Grier did in that game.
