The Dallas Cowboys have not gotten everything right, but what seems to be a safe bet year-after-year is a good to great offensive line. The discovery and development of offensive linemen in Dallas is second to none, with most draft picks and many undrafted free agents turning into starting or star players.

Offensive tackle Tyler Guyton and interior lineman Cooper Beebe were immediately put into the spotlight as rookies who must quickly develop into dependable players. Considering the nature of rookies, especially at a position that takes a while to develop, being starters, the offensive line's success was left to hopes and prayers.

Offensive line mastermind Duke Manyweather has been working with Guyton and Beebe during the offseason. Manyweather is the best coach to help the rookies in switching to their new positions of left tackle and center.

The early work and dedication of the rookie duo have paid off thus far. While playing well in the preseason is nothing to rave about, their growth and stability is encouraging. There isn't much to gain at this time of the year, but there is much to lose.

After two weeks in the preseason, Guyton is the highest-graded rookie offensive tackle and ninth among all tackles, per Pro Football Focus. That is alongside countless plays of the former Sooner showing off his power making grown men look like children.

Beebe has not been as dominant but has shown improvement in putting his hands up while maintaining good balance after the snap. He is not the quickest lineman but has shown good awareness in sealing off blocks before moving to the next target and finishing it with power. Running back Deuce Vaughn got good runs thanks to Beebe's combo blocks on Saturday.

While Guyton was penciled in as the starter and remained there throughout the offseason, Beebe was losing the battle at center coming out of training camp. Brock Hoffman's experience at the position compared to Beebe gave him a significant advantage, but seeing the spot become a battle once again is very encouraging.

It's not Hoffman losing the starting spot, but rather Beebe taking it. That is the best scenario we could have asked for, and now the youngster will have every opportunity to secure it leading up to and after the Week 1 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

Concerns are shoring up in Dallas. In a year with much uncertainty, regarding the future of the team pending contracts with their top three players, the offensive line is secure with two spots locked up for at least four years. If contracts don't get resolved and the team is thrown into a rebuild, at least the offensive trench will protect the future.
