The Dallas Cowboys have one of the best rosters in the NFL leading up to the 2023 season, but what position groups are the strongest? Which are the weakest? We're going to dissect the entire roster from top to bottom now that the Cowboys -- and every other NFL team -- have assembled their top 53.

Can this Dallas Cowboys team contend for a championship in 2023? I think after looking at the roster on paper, they certainly have the personnel to do so. Let's take a look at the Dallas Cowboys roster position groups from worst to best here in 2023.

Ranking Cowboys position groups from worst to best in 2023

11. Tight Ends

  • Jake Ferguson
  • Peyton Hendershot
  • Luke Schoonmaker
  • Sean McKeon
  • John Henderson Jr.

Not that Dalton Schultz was the most earth-shattering option at the tight end position, but this looks like it will probably be the Dallas Cowboys' worst position group on paper. Jake Ferguson and Peyton Hendershot played over 700 combined snaps last year for Dallas, so it's not like the Cowboys are going into this season without guys that have time on task.

Or upside, for that matter. Luke Schoonmaker was maybe a surprise second-round pick to some people, but he's a very talented prospect at the position and hopefully he can become the Cowboys' TE1 in short order.
