Predicting the highest-rated Cowboys players in Madden 24

Stephon Gilmore (CB)

Newly acquired cornerback Stephon Gilmore should provide a nice boost to Dallas' defensive team rating. After a couple of down years in 2020 and 2021, Gilmore had a rebound season last year with the Indianapolis and proved he can still play at an elite level — even at 32 years old.

He may no longer be the best in the league, but he is one of just four players to rank inside the top 15 in Pro Football Focus' coverage grades in both 2021 and 2022, according to CBS Sports. Many analysts still rank Gilmore as one of the top cornerbacks in the league and until he shows he can no longer keep up with the best receivers in the game, he'll remain there.

Gilmore was traded to Dallas this offseason and should immediately be slotted in among the top-rated players on the team in Madden 24. Gilmore finished last year with a solid 90 overall rating. Because of his age, I don't think he'll see any sort of bump to start the season, but it's possible EA could knock him a point or two in anticipation that he'll lose a step.
