The Dallas Cowboys are 2-2, but those two wins were far from impressive. The Cowboys beat up on lowly Deshaun Watson and the Browns, were stomped at home twice, and then needed an ultra-conservative Daniel Jones performance to take down the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football.

If there is any hope that this team will do anything in the postseason, it lies on the right arm of quarterback Dak Prescott. The Cowboys will need Dak to play above what he has been in the last few years, as the surrounding talent around him is worse while the NFC East has gotten much deeper around him.

The Cowboys may have a terrible run defense and a lack of offensive talent outside of Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson, but they also have No. 4 under center to make up for those deficiencies.

Even as the division gets stronger around them after years of constant struggles, the Cowboys should feel confident in the fact they have one of the finest quarterbacks in the NFL.

NFC East QB Power Rankings after Week 4: Where is Dak Prescott?

4. Daniel Jones, New York Giants

While Jones didn't make any mistakes against Dallas, he also left a ton of meat on the bone and did little to show the Giants he should be back for a seventh season as the unquestioned starter. Jones will likely be unable to lead the Giants to any postseason success in 2024, which could lead to a new young quarterback at the sticks in 2025.

3. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

Hurts has taken a major step backward as a passer this season. While his playmaking chops will still be good enough to keep the Eagles alive as the favorite to win the division, he has shown the limitations of his arm when he doesn't have AJ Brown and Devonta Smith available to erase his mistakes.

After Sunday's loss, Hurts has nine straight games with a turnovers, three turnovers in the red zone on the season and his 27 turnovers since the start of last season are the most in the NFL.

2. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

Daniels has been better than anyone could have expected in his first month. Washington has a 3-1 record, all while Daniels has teamed with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury and former Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn to set a record for completion percentage through a player's first four games in any given season. The Commanders are no joke and Daniels is the biggest reason why.

1. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

Prescott's numbers may look ordinary, but he is overcoming the lack of any sort of running game, a vanilla offense, and exactly one high-end skill position player in CeeDee Lamb. The Cowboys ask Prescott to do as much or more than just about every quarterback in the NFC, and he keeps gutting out wins.

While Prescott's $60 million price tag and lack of playoff success are always going to be chum for the hot take talking heads on TV, those who watch him play the position can see he is a masterful passer. Hopefully, this is the year he can translate those skills into a deep playoff run.
