Defensive MVP – Micah Parsons
Now let’s turn our attention to the defensive side of the football and recognize the player that has been the most impactful so far this season.
That player is of course Micah Parsons and his ability to affect the passing game no matter where defensive coordinator Dan Quinn decides to line him up. We’ve seen Parsons rush off the left and right side of the defensive line, he’s rushed from the linebacker position, and now Quinn has him lining up over the center.
Parsons' quarterback pressures this season are at the top of the league even though he’s taking on more double and triple team blocks this season. His ability to get pressure on quarterbacks has made it easier for the Cowboys secondary to make plays on the ball and convert them into interceptions and at times touchdowns.
Parsons is just as good in the running game. If a play gets past him or is run to the opposite side of the field, his sideline-to-sideline speed allows him to still make a play and take down ball-carriers. DaRon Bland is a close second thanks to his play after the season-ending injury to Trevon Diggs, but his play can be tied to the success of Parsons.
