Cowboys Round 3 pick: Moose Muhammad III, WR, Texas A&M

If the name sounds familiar, it's because his father was an NFL wideout from 1996 through 2009. Mushin Muhammad was a second-round pick out of Michigan and played for the Carolina Panthers (1996-2004 and 2008-2009) and Chicago Bears (2005-2007).

MM3 is now working his way toward the NFL and is coming off a 2022 campaign that saw him catch 38 passes for 610 yards with four touchdowns.

In Dallas, he would be fighting for a spot with Jalen Tolbert while offering insurance should they end up having to move on from Michael Gallup — who didn't look like himself in 2022.

They do have Brandin Cooks under contract for the 2024 campaign, so there's no need to rush Moose into the lineup. But he could wind up being the long-term answer across from CeeDee Lamb — who is also about to get paid.

Cowboys Round 4 pick: Jaylon Carlies, S, Missouri

Jayron Kearse and Malik Hooker have been sensational additions but each will be free agents in 2024. It would be nice to keep them both around but that might be easier said than done. Thankfully, they did keep Donovan Wilson, but there's only so much money to go around.

With that being the case, Jaylon Carlies from Missouri is the selection in Round 4. He has elite size at 6-foot3 and 204 pounds and had 148 tackles with seven picks over the past two seasons. Dallas is finally paying attention to the safety position and they ensure talent remains on the roster even if they lose one of the aforementioned pending free agents.
