By looking at just the numbers, Prescott has been outperforming his most likely competition coming out of the NFC over the last six weeks.

He leads them in all categories, Hard to believe when he's going up against quarterbacks with the receivers that Jalen Hurts and Brock Purdy have compared to Prescott who's been relying heavily on CeeDee Lamb during this stretch. Hurts has A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert, Purdy has Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle, and Goff has Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta, and Josh Reynolds.

And yet, Prescott has been able to outperform each of them, and he's going this behind an offensive line that is still working to get in sink. Prescott has had to maneuver behind this very up-and-down offensive line at times in order to make plays. The added element of using his legs to pick up yards on the ground has made defending him and this offense even more troublesome as Prescott is forcing defenders to come up and respect his ability to run while he looks downfield to make a play if one is there.

The final reason this stretch for Prescott has been so impressive is the fact that he's been putting up these numbers without a legitimate running game to help him like the others currently have. Meaning teams have been more focused on stopping Prescott in the passing game than stopping the Cowboys running game.

Hurts has D'Andre Swift and Kenneth Gainwell, Brock Purdy has Christian McCaffery and Elijah Mitchell, while Jared Goff has David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs. If he had what the others do then I'm sure this team would be vying for the top spot in the NFC with the Eagles.

Also, let's not forget that each of these quarterbacks has lost to bad teams just like Prescott did against the Arizona Cardinals. The Eagles' sole loss came from the New York Jets in a game where Hurts threw three interceptions, the 49ers lost to a struggling Minnesota Vikings team in a game where Purdy threw two interceptions, and Goff most recently lost to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving and Goff has three turnovers in that game.

Dak is doing a great job on the field and while everyone is focused on how he has been beating up on bad teams, which you are supposed to do in the NFL, and what he does over the next five games. But it's time that everyone starts to give Prescott the respect he deserves instead of treating him like Rodney Dangerfield and giving him no respect.
