Watch Cowboys UDFA WR impress with unreal TD grab at training camp
By Jerry Trotta
The Dallas Cowboys' roster is among the best in the NFL in terms of talent. What could help the Cowboys elevate to the best in the league, though, is young players rising to the occasion and becoming instant contributors.
While Eric Scott Jr., Jalen Tolbert and DeMarvion Overshown were among the youngsters who impressed on day one of training camp, it was undrafted free agent receiver Jalen Moreno-Cropper who turned the most heads.
Rotating with the second-team offense during team drills, Moreno-Cropper made a tremendous catch in the corner of the end zone for a touchdown. The UDFA showed great concentration and footwork to get his feet in before his momentum drove him out of bounds.

It doesn't get much better than that for training camp touchdowns.
Credit to Cooper Rush for throwing an absolute dime, too, but this is all about Moreno-Crooper's fingertip grab and toe-drag before falling to the ground. It says a lot about the 22-year-old's awareness that he knew to get his foot down a split-second before his knee hit the grass.
Moreno-Cropper surprisingly went undrafted after dominating the Mountain West at Fresno State and showing out at the East-West Shrine Bowl.
He logged the seventh-most catches among FBS receivers spanning the 2021 and 2022 seasons, with his most impressive game coming in an upset win over UCLA, which boasted one of the best pass defenses in the country at the time. Moreno-Cropper caught 14 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown.
The Cowboys have a ton of uncertainty at WR behind CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks and Michael Gallup. So much so that Moreno-Cropper is viewed as someone who could make the team and push for the WR4 or WR5 role.
With more highlights like this, he'll be on a fast-track to the 53-man roster.
