Life after Tony Pollard sure is looking more and more difficult for the Dallas Cowboys. Ezekiel Elliott was brought back for a reunion, but come on, he's been quite underwhelming with how he's looked this summer. Can Dallas rely on him to handle an RB1 workload for this team? No chance.

As things stand, Elliott and Rico Dowdle are looking like the top RBs for this squad, with Deuce Vaughn also being in the mix. However, is Dallas about to add another veteran back to help out Dak Prescott? That could be the case, as the Cowboys will host former Pro Bowler Dalvin Cook for a visit:

The Cowboys are set to host veteran RB Dalvin Cook for a visit

Cook remains in free agency looking for a new place to call home. Courtesy of that video posted by Pelissero, you can see that Cook is in incredible shape, looking as jacked as ever. When he was suiting up for the Minnesota Vikings, he was one of the best RBs in the game.

However, Cook's prime is in the past, which we saw in 2023. He spent time with the Ravens and Jets, appearing in 15 games for New York. While in New Jersey, the four-time Pro Bowler rushed for 214 yards on 67 carries. The year before in Minnesota, he posted 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns.

If the Cowboys do end up signing Cook, this kind of move has Jerry Jones written all over it. Cook clearly looks like he's ready to keep playing and depending on how his visit goes, suiting up for America's Team could go down.

It's going to take him some time to get himself game ready, but would he be worth it for Dallas? The Cowboys could ink him to a veteran's minimum, so it's not like his addition is going to break the bank. Dallas needs more help at the position, sure, but is Cook the best option out there? Jones and Co. may think so, but plenty of people are questioning this interest - and understandably so.
