Injury updates on Trevon Diggs, DeMarvion Overshown
Two injuries that reared their ugly head near the end of the regular season and in the playoffs were that of Trevon Diggs and DeMarvion Overshown. Both players suffered torn ACLs and underwent season-ending surgery.
A third-round pick in the 2023 draft, Overshown went down amid a promising training camp and preseason, while Diggs suffered his injury in practice before Dallas' Week 3 game against the Cardinals. Though devastating, the injury's timeframes offer Overshown and Diggs a chance to be ready for the start of the 2024 season.
While a return to OTAs and mandatory minicamp is unrealistic, executive vice president Stephen Jones told reporters at the NFL Combine that Diggs and Overshown should be cleared for training camp in Oxnard.
Even if Diggs and Overshown aren't all systems go for the start of camp, avoiding the PUP list would be a massive step in terms of being ready for Week 1. Coming off major surgery and having to learn a potentially new defense under Mike Zimmer, Diggs and Overshown will need all the practice reps they can get.
