It could be the kick heard 'round Cowboys Nation. Micah Parsons reported on Tuesday that he was kicked in the leg during training camp practice, and is now going to get it looked at.

Parsons was seen leaving practice early with his lower left leg wrapped. He walked off the field under his own power. The extent of the injury is unknown at this time.

Also unknown is exactly who kicked Parsons in the leg. But whoever it was, he could become an infamous goat if the team’s best player misses any significant time.

Of course, this isn’t about just the Cowboys’ best player. Parsons is considered one of the best players in the league. He is considered the favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year, with early momentum to finish ahead of other standouts like Cleveland’s Myles Garrett, Pittsburgh’s T.J. Watt and San Francisco’s Nick Bosa.

Micah Parsons injury update: Dallas Cowboys waiting

While the offensive line has been plagued by injuries, the Cowboys have been fortunate to not have many defenders missing practice.

Defensive lineman Junior Fehoko was absent last week, but is expected to return before Saturday’s preseason game against Seattle. Linebacker Malik Jefferson was injured during the preseason matchup against Jacksonville, but is also likely to play against Seattle. Cornerback Nahshon Wright has been hobbled with a slight high ankle sprain and is doubtful for Saturday’s game.

Of course, none of those names carry near the same weight as Parsons.

Stay tuned for updates on his status.
