The 2023 NFL Draft is (somehow) less than a week away, and fans are hoping teams select players that will help the team this season and beyond. The Dallas Cowboys are no different, and likely one of the favorites to come away with one of the best classes given their excellent hit rate in the draft.

The Cowboys' 2022 draft class has the makings of a special group. Between Tyler Smith, Sam Williams, Jake Ferguson, DaRon Bland and Damone Clark, they nabbed an incredible five players who looked the part as rookies.

Dallas hasn't have as much draft equity as they've grown accustomed to, but nobody is complaining about that given some picks were sacrificed to bring in Stephon Gilmore and Brandin Cooks -- two vets who'll help the team win immediately.

With that, how many total selections are in this year's NFL Draft and how many do the Cowboys possess? Here's everything you need to know.

How many picks do the Cowboys have in the 2023 NFL Draft?

The Dallas Cowboys own seven picks in the draft. They originally had 10 selections, but offloaded a pair of fifth-rounders to get Gilmore and Cooks, and a 2023 sixth-round pick to acquire run-stuffer Johnathan Hankins mid-season.

Round 1, No. 26 overall

Round 2, No. 58 overall

Round 3, No. 90 overall

Round 4, No. 129 overall

Round 5, No. 176 overall

Round 6, No. 212 overall

Round 7, No. 246 overall

All eyes will be on Dallas and what they do in the first round. A trade down is a possibility, or they could hold serve and take the best player available at pick 26. The Cowboys' fifth- and sixth-round picks this year are compensatory picks.

How many total picks are there in the 2023 NFL Draft?

Speaking of comp picks, the 2023 NFL Draft totals 259 selections after the league handed out this year's compensatory picks. The Panthers hold the No. 1 overall pick after trading up with the Bears, while the Texans, holders of the No. 2 overall pick, are slated to draft Mr. Irrelevant with the draft's final pick.

There are only 31 picks in the first round this year after the Dolphins were stripped of their first-round pick for tampering. They would have been slotted at No. 21 overall in the first round. Alas, the Steelers' No. 32 overall selection counts as a second-round pick.

The draft beings Thursday, April 27 and runs through Sunday, April 29.
