With the 212nd pick in the 2024 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select:

Jordan Jefferson, DT, LSU

Overall PFF Grade: 70.5

I have a feeling the Cowboys are going to go out in free agency and get themselves a defensive tackle to go with Mazi Smith, but they need to get themselves another one in the draft. Jefferson is a very alert defensive tackle that can quickly disengage from blockers to make a play. He does a nice job of working his way down the line and will not give up on a play if the ball carrier gets past him.

The Cowboys need size in the middle of their defense, and they take a flyer on Jefferson hoping to find a player that can help them in the running game.

With the 245th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft the Dallas Cowboys select:

Josh Proctor, S, Ohio State

Overall PFF Grade: 77.9

The Cowboys aren’t likely to bring back Kearse who hits free agency so they will look to add another safety in the draft. We know they don’t value the position the way many other teams do and they waited until their final pick to select Proctor. Proctor is a physical safety with a knack for making plays on the football. If he were a bit quicker, he would be able to make more interceptions than passes defended, either way he is a good cover safety.

He does a nice job taking away tight ends but also has the ability to drop back and play two deep safety looks as well. He could be a nice addition in the back half of the Cowboys defense.
