It's anyone's guess what Deuce Vaughn's role will be in the Dallas Cowboys offense, but two preseason games have proven he deserves some touches in a star-studded group of position players headlined by CeeDee Lamb and Tony Pollard.

In Week 1, Vaughn led the Cowboys in rushing with 50 yards on eight carries. He scored a touchdown between the tackles and sparked a previously-toothless offense. His impact in Week 2 wasn't as profound, but he scored another TD on an impressive run in which he bounced off a tackle and spun around a defender.

As a result, the Cowboys community has Vaughn fever. Heck, the entire NFL landscape can't get enough of the 2023 sixth-round pick. Already a national storyline following the NFL Draft, Vaughn's preseason has talking heads ready to anoint him as RB2 in Dallas' backfield.

Don't tell that to CeeDee Lamb, though.

With Vaughn garnering love from every which direction, Lamb made sure to keep the rookie grounded by roasting him on Instagram. Lamb pointed out a pair of cleats and gloves that were left abandoned in the Cowboys locker room.

This is high-level trolling from Lamb, who actually tricked some media outlets into thinking that's Vaughn's actual equipment.

A quick glance, however, is all you need to see the truth. While Vaughn is undersized at 5-foot-6 and 176 pounds, those are very clearly toddler cleats, and they look more like soccer footwear than football spikes. Furthermore, Vaughn rocked all white cleats in both preseason games.

Maybe Lamb placed the equipment there himself to make the joke. Maybe the cleats belong to Trevon Diggs' adorbale son, Aaiden.

In any event, this clip encapsulates the unity of the Cowboys' locker room.

The fact Lamb was comfortable enough to poke fun at Vaughn's small frame shows there's zero concern about the Kansas State product potentially taking it the wrong way. It's clear the All-Pro and rookie have developed a close bond since Vaughn was drafted in April.

The national media would love nothing more than to make a meal of this, but it doesn't involve Dak Prescott so they'll probably steer clear.

All kidding aside, it'll be interesting to see if Vaughn responds to Lamb's roast with some (playful) hazing of his own. The star wide receiver has 1.4 million followers on Instagram so he mad fun at Vaughn's expense in front of a large audience.

It's only right that Deuce fires back.
