Round 2, Pick 56: Kris Jenkins, DT, Michigan

Dallas added Mazi Smith in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft but he didn't do much as a rookie. While their asinine plan to force him to lose weight is largely to blame, the Cowboys still seem intent on finding someone who could push him for snaps. In this mock, that leads to a former teammate of his — Kris Jenkins.

At 6-foot-3 and 299 pounds, Jenkins is the son of a four-time Pro Bowler and comes in off a National Championship. He's considered a relentless pass rusher despite having just 4.5 sacks over the past two seasons. He performed well at the combine and projects as an athletic 3-tech who can help the Cowboys defensive line improve in 2024 and beyond.

Round 3, Pick 87: Trey Benson, RB, Florida State

During his media session, Trey Benson said the Cowboys were a good fit for him since they run the same scheme as Florida State.

"I loved the meeting, learn about you know blocking schemes stuff," Benson said at the Scouting Combine via Adam Schultz of SI. "I feel like the Cowboys, they got the same scheme as Florida State so it'll be a good fit for me.”

Measuring 6-foot and 216-pounds, Benson impressed with a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash. He never topped the 1,000 yard mark for the Seminoles but that speed shows he can breakaway from anyone. He's also capable of a heavy workload, meaning he can be their third starter in as many picks.
