Cowboys 7-round 2024 NFL Mock Draft after losing Tyron Smith
By Randy Gurzi
Round 2, Pick 56: Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, C, Georgia
Tyler Biadasz was an excellent pick back in 2020 for Dallas. The Wisconsin product came in and developed into a trusted starter in the middle of their line and wound up securing a massive payday in the offseason. Naturally, it was newly hired Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn who stole him — which was true of many of the free agents to leave Big D.
Biadasz will be missed and the Cowboys can't go into the season with Brock Hoffman as the starter. Unless they go into free agency and find a bridge option, they're going to need to get someone on Day 1 or 2. In this mock, it's their first pick in Day 2 which they use on Georgia's Sedrick Van Pran-Granger.
A redshirt junior who entered the NFL Combine at 6-foot-4 and 298 pounds, Van Pran-Granger has incredibly strong hands and is known as a fighter. He was the centerpiece of several impressive offensive lines for Georgia and can hold his own as both a run blocker and pass protector.
Van Pran-Granger was one of the players the Cowboys met with during the Scouting Combine and he could end up being the starter as early as Week 1.
