Cowboys Selection Round 3, No. 90: Zacch Pickens, DT, South Carolina

With their third-round pick, the Cowboys now go after a defensive lineman as they bring in Zacch Pickens from South Carolina. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 291 pounds, Pickens looks the part of an NFL defensive tackle but never truly saw the production that was expected of him with the Gamecocks.

In four seasons, he had 131 tackles, 11.5 for a loss, and 7.5 sacks. However, he tested incredibly well, landing in the top 10 at his position for his athletic score at the Scouting Combine. Pickens ran the 40-yard dash in 4.89 seconds, had 22 bench reps, and ran the 10-yard split in 1.74 seconds.

There were really no drills where he looked bad, which helps him land near the end of Day 2. For Dallas, he's a talented player who can be molded into a playmaker by Dan Quinn.

Cowboys Selection Round 4, No. 129: Roschon Johnson, RB, Texas

Speaking of playmakers, Dallas lands one here as they pick up Roschon Johnson from Texas. A complete stud, Johnson is a powerful runner at 6-foot-0 and 219 pounds. He's not a burner by any means (4.58 in the 40-yard dash) but he's hard to bring down when he has a fill head of steam.

Johnson was overshadowed by Bijan Robinson but would have been a star anywhere else. In the end, his role as the No. 2 back for the Longhorns could be a blessing for Dallas.

Not only does he have far less tread on the tires than other workhorse backs, but he's also used to sharing the load β€”Β as is Tony Pollard. That means the running back committee would be better than ever in Big D.
