Tight End (3) Jake Ferguson, Luke Schoonmaker, Peyton Hendershot

Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys want to keep four TEs on the roster. Dallas frequently leans on 12 personnel (2 TE sets) and having an extra TE on the roster helps the cause. With Luepke’s perceived ability to play H-back and various other TE roles, he could save the Cowboys a roster spot.

Jake Ferguson is the favorite to claim the TE1 spot out of the gate with the rookie Luke Schoonmaker hot on his heels. Together with Hendershot they form a TE trio who’s ceiling is yet-to-be discovered. Unrealized potential across the board here.

Receiver (6) CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, Michael Gallup, Simi Fehoko, Jalen Tolbert, KaVontae Turpin

There aren’t many ways for this to shake out. Even with an emphasis on potential, the favorities are obvious. Aside from the first three who are locks, Dallas has two players they drafted and one player coming off a Pro Bowl season.

Simi Fehoko is a big bodied WR with deep speed and special team ability. He’s stated in the offseason he’s focused on Noah Brown’s job as the blocking specialist and it’s hard to see anyone on the roster capable of challenging him for it. His size and speed give him a tantalizing ceiling.

Being a top-100 pick, Tolbert has the highest pedigree of the bunch. He’s coming off a terrible season but still has all the physical traits that make him a high potential player.

Turpin has speed and quickness that are unparalleled on the Cowboys. He’s small in stature which limits him as a downfield option, but he can take any ball to the house and just screams potential.
