It's officially the worst time of the year on the NFL calendar. The Dallas Cowboys wrapped up preseason Saturday, which means roster cuts are around the corner.

Over the next 72 hours, nearly 40 players on every roster will be released or waived. This year is a little different in terms of roster cutdowns. Previously, teams were required to make a specific number of cuts after each week of preseason.

This year, the Cowboys will cut down to 53 players in one fell swoop. Of course, not every cut has to be made all at once. Some teams have already started the process by waiving veterans to allow them to talk to other teams.

Dallas may take a similar approach with vets on the roster bubble. Either way, fans should expect multiple surprises before Tuesday's 3 p.m. CT deadline. Follow along here to keep track of every move the Cowboys make between now and then.
