2. San Francisco 49ers

A rematch of the Divisional Round from last year that involves two of the winningest franchises in NFL history would be a big Week 1 draw for the NFL.

The Cowboys want their revenge on the 49ers, after they were booted out of the playoff by them in consecutive years in 2021 and 2022. San Francisco is looking to get over the hump and finally make it back to the Super Bowl.

Two great teams, two great franchises should call for one exciting game in Week 1.

The Cowboys last opened the season against the 49ers in 2014 with a 4:25 P.M. ET start time. It was Tony Romo versus Colin Kaepernick showdown. This time it would be a Dak Prescott versus a to-be-determined showdown.

Despite not knowing who the 49ers starter is in Week 1 between Trey Lance and Brock Purdy, San Francisco would be a tough matchup for the Cowboys to open the season. It would also draw fans from two big fanbases.

Last year's Divisional Round saw 45.7 million viewers tune in to the playoff game, the second most-watched Divisional Round game ever.

The Cowboys want to finally get their revenge on the 49ers. The 49ers want to continue beating America's Team. It would make a lot of sense for the NFL to schedule these two teams to play Week 1 in a primetime slot.
