5 former Cowboys who are still having trouble finding a job
4. Jayron Kearse, S
Interestingly enough, Jayron Kearse has played for both Dan Quinn and Mike Zimmer, and yet he currently remains without a job.
That will ultimately change. Kearse is good enough for teams to have around at least for a look this offseason, but it was clear this past season that his play had been declining a bit. The fact that Dan Quinn has taken so many former Cowboys players with him to Washington already could be indicative that Kearse will be next when the timing is right, but it's pretty telling that he hasn't been prioritized by two defensive coaches who know him the best.
5. Connor Williams, OL
Former Dallas Cowboys second-round pick Connor Williams remains a free agent, but it's not because teams wouldn't be interested in him. The former Texas Longhorns star is recovering from injury, and his agent (Drew Rosenhaus) has stated that is the reason why he's taking his time with choosing his next NFL destination.
At some point this offseason, some NFL team (heck, maybe the Cowboys) is going to get a nice little steal with Williams. He has center/guard versatility and played really well at center for the Miami Dolphins, his most recent team.
If it weren't for his injury, he might have joined a number of other interior linemen getting big-time money on the open market. He'll likely have to take a one-year prove-it deal to reach free agency and try and cash in next offseason.
